Le duo Misuk!
Juliette de Massy, soprano
Nima Yeganefar, pianist
As the inversion of vowels “Misuk/Musik” suggests, this ensemble try modestly to reverse some of the conventions of traditional classical recital. Breaking the boundaries between classical and popular, scholarly and folk, blending genres and styles, making people laugh and cry, and occasionally wake up the “sleeping” audience, such is their desire in creating this duo. They hope to perform a repertoire of another colour, more accessible and cosmopolitan.
In this perspective, they value and seek a privileged contact with the public. Through music, which is more universal than ever and unreserved, there are no longer barriers with listeners/spectators who they try to move as much as they can. This process is under development and they want to go towards a form of concert/theatre. The pleasure of the ears and eyes delight the senses.
The duo Misuk! performs regularly in recitals throughout France and was a finalist in the 2011 Music Contest in Central France with a recital at the Chateau de Blois.
