Suren was born in London on 12th December 1989. Having learnt piano, jazz drumming and tuned percussion from an early age, he enjoys playing a wide genre of music, from solo and orchestral percussion to jazz, rock and improvisation.
As a teenager he took part in concerts and gigs at a variety of venues including the Royal Albert Hall with the Barnet Youth Orchestra, Glastonbury Festival with his band “Bombay Bicycle Club,” the Jardin du Luxembourg and the Champs du Mars in Paris with his school wind band and St. James’ Piccadilly with the London Youth Wind Band.
In October 2008 Suren premiered a work in Berlin written especially for him by John Mayer, for vibraphone, xylophone and tanpura.
In November 2009 at the “Sound Festival” in Aberdeen, Scotland, Suren premiered “Beyond the Reach of the World” with his father Rohan, a piece written by Param Vir for cello, vibraphone and various other percussion.
Suren has also performed across Europe as well as in Japan, USA, Canada and Brazil as the drummer in Bombay Bicycle Club.
